Recently, I saw an ad for Dean Graziosi and Tony Robbins Mastermind groups. They’re getting together and forming a “Mastermind” group. It was only $7 to $10 a month, so I signed up. Now, I want to give my open and honest review.
Basically, it’s a Facebook group—a low-cost Facebook group. Along with group privileges, you get several recorded lessons in the membership area. The videos talk about how to have success as an entrepreneur, marketing basics, ways to run a business, and also lessons on delegation. The videos are actually really good, and they should be. These guys are high-level people and they put out quality content.
What I don’t really like about this group is that it’s called a Mastermind group. I think a Mastermind group is real human beings, meeting in a room, virtually or in person, hashing out problems on a regular basis. In my opinion, I don’t believe a Facebook group should be called a Mastermind. I just don’t think that’s the true definition of a Mastermind. I understand it’s helping people but it’s not a Mastermind. In Facebook groups, there’s a lot of posturing and BS’ing. There’s a lot of people giving advice that they shouldn’t be giving. They’d never been there. They’ve never done that. They’re struggling just as hard as you are, or they’ve never struggled at all, or at least they’re not letting you know. They may not even have a business at all. They just get on and try to sound important. This is just my impression from the Tony Robbins/Dean Graziosi Facebook “Mastermind”.
Once I was in the group, I started asking people to meet so we could all find out who we all really are. I wanted to take the masks off and hash out real problems over a Zoom call. A few people actually showed up and it was okay to say the least. I wasn’t super happy with the quality of people who showed up. It didn’t feel like they really wanted to have a true Mastermind experience.
The reason I’m saying this is because Mastermind is my passion project. I actually want to invite you to check out a real Mastermind. We have real entrepreneurs. We meet every week and most of us are new business owners or struggling solopreneurs who are feeling isolated. They want to be around other people like themselves. They really want to hash stuff out. In a true Mastermind, deep friendships are built and you find some amazing resources. When you have a hot seat, you’re going to walk away with five pages of notes, connections, and new ideas all geared towards your specific issue. This is the true power of a Mastermind group you won’t find in a Facebook group.
