A question I often get is, “How do I join a Mastermind group?” There are several different options out there and what you choose depends on your level of business ownership.
First, there are big, giant Mastermind groups. Sometimes they’re conferences that call themselves Masterminds. But, a true Mastermind group meets every week or every other week, sometimes, even only once a month. The bottom line is that it’s consistent. A consistent comradery with people at your level, where everyone supports each other, and takes each other to the next level. It really is amazing what happens in a Mastermind group.
There are a lot of different ways to join. I have a link on our website and I’ll also put the link below with a directory of all the Mastermind groups I know of, budget friendly groups and super high level groups. If you make a million dollars a year, you probably want to get involved with something like Entrepreneur Organization or EO. There are also others similar to EO, for example, the Russell Brunson and Joe Polish groups, all the big marketing gurus out there. Keep in mind, these are super expensive Masterminds. If you are at this level and can afford $20,000 to $50,000 a year, or even $100,000 a year, those links are below as well.
Now, there are many other options for mid-level or entry-level Mastermind groups. I run an entry-level Mastermind group and It’s very affordable. People come to their first meeting for free to see if it’s something that’s right for them. You can also Google, “Mastermind groups in Atlanta, Georgia”, “Mastermind groups in whatever city you’re in”. If you’re in a smaller city, you might not find one. This is when an online Mastermind group may be your best option. If you’re in a bigger city, you might be able to find those local groups. A lot of them, at least for the time being with COVID, are moving online and not in person.
I have my local Mastermind group in Missoula, Montana, and I have an online group with people from all over the country, to include Canada. The groups I facilitate are typically new business owners or struggling solopreneurs who are sick of working by themselves and don’t have comradery. They want to make some deep friendships. They want:
- GET UNSTUCK
Most people find me online or through the videos I post. I also answer questions on social media and Quora.com. You can get on Facebook and ask people if they are part of a Mastermind group. If they are, ask what kind of group it is and if there are any openings. I’ve found a lot of them are closed off.
I scale the Mastermind groups I facilitate. I invite a lot of people in, and then we have breakout rooms of 8 to 12 people per room, to keep it small. When you get up into anything above 12, it gets messy, and it’s hard to have an effective meeting where everybody participates and has breakthroughs. This is the main reason I like to keep them small.
